Licensees

Licensees are qualified consulting firms with environmental expertise who undergo rigorous training in IBRA’s proprietary assessment methodologies. These authorized entities conduct technical due diligence and compile preliminary assessments of biomass resource readiness according to IBRA’s standardized frameworks.

While licensees execute the analytical groundwork, final rating determinations remain exclusively with IBRA’s rating committees to maintain methodological consistency and analytical independence. Licensees submit rating recommendations for committee review but do not issue ratings directly.

This structured relationship preserves rating integrity while expanding IBRA’s assessment capacity across diverse geographic regions. Licensees remit standardized fees for methodology access and ongoing technical support, creating a scalable framework for consistent biomass risk evaluation globally.

How to Become a Licensee

IBRA maintains a selective authorization process for firms seeking to conduct BDO Zone assessments under our methodological framework. Prospective licensees undergo a structured evaluation focused on technical capabilities, professional standards, and organizational independence.

Authorization Process

Qualification: Candidates must demonstrate established environmental expertise, analytical capabilities, and relevant sector experience. Firms must certify absence of conflicts that could compromise assessment objectivity.

Training: Authorized representatives complete IBRA’s comprehensive methodology certification covering assessment protocols, data requirements, and analytical frameworks. Training culminates in standardized proficiency examination.

Probationary Period: Initial assessments undergo enhanced review to ensure methodological adherence and analytical consistency with IBRA standards.

Ongoing Compliance: Licensees maintain authorization through regular recertification, participation in methodology updates, and adherence to IBRA’s independence requirements.

Interested organizations should contact IBRA’s Licensing Division for application materials and scheduling of qualification interviews.
